If you haven’t fired up your grill yet this year, these Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Skewers will give you good reason to do so. With just seven ingredients, these skewers couldn’t be easier to assemble, and because they cook up in less than 10 minutes, they’re perfect for dinner any night of the week or for weekend cookouts.
Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Skewers
Makes about 10
Ingredients
- ¼ cup cane syrup
- 2 tablespoons Creole mustard
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 pound peeled and deveined large fresh shrimp (tails left on)
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- 1 large fresh pineapple, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 10 metal skewers
Instructions
- Spray grill rack with nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to 350°.
- In a small bowl, stir together cane syrup, mustard, hot sauce, and oil; set aside.
- Thread shrimp, tomatoes, and pineapple onto skewers. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from heat; brush with cane syrup sauce. Serve warm.
