Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Skewers
 
Makes about 10
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup cane syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Creole mustard
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound peeled and deveined large fresh shrimp (tails left on)
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 large fresh pineapple, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 10 metal skewers
Instructions
  1. Spray grill rack with nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to 350°.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together cane syrup, mustard, hot sauce, and oil; set aside.
  3. Thread shrimp, tomatoes, and pineapple onto skewers. Grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from heat; brush with cane syrup sauce. Serve warm.
