Homemade Hot Sauce
This Homemade Hot Sauce blends Fresno chiles, garlic, and apple cider vinegar into a bold, tangy condiment perfect for adding heat to any dish.
 
Homemade Hot Sauce
 
Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients
  • 4 ounces Fresno chile peppers, seeded and chopped
  • ¾ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 7 tablespoons water, plus more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon plus ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
  1. In a small nonreactive saucepan, combine peppers, vinegar, 7 tablespoons water, garlic, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low, partially cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 15 minutes. Let cool completely.
  2. In the container of a blender, blend mixture until very smooth, stopping to scrape sides of container. Add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to thin mixture if necessary. Pour into a glass storage container. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
