Hearty and full of flavor, this Wild Rice Torres combines savory sausage, nutty wild rice, sweet golden raisins, and toasted pecans for the perfect balance of textures and tastes. Simple to make and ideal for holiday tables or weeknight dinners, it’s a warm, comforting side dish with a touch of Southern flair.

Wild Rice Torres
 
Makes 8 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 (16-ounce) package pork breakfast sausage or Italian sausage (if using links, remove casing)
  • 2 (4.3-ounce) boxes of wild rice mix, cooked according to package directions
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup roasted pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • Garnish: chopped green onion
Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, brown the sausage and drain excess fat. Add sausage to prepared wild rice along with green onion, raisins, and nuts. Mix thoroughly. Serve warm. Garnish with green onion, if desired.
