Spicy Watermelon Margaritas
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
- ¾ cup silver tequila
- 1 jalapeño, sliced
- ½ teaspoon Tajín Clásico
- 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon (about 1 small watermelon), frozen
- ⅓ cup fresh lime juice
- ½ cup triple sec
- 2 tablespoons agave nectar
- Garnish: lime wedge, Tajín Clásico, thinly sliced watermelon
Instructions
- In a Mason jar, combine tequila, jalapeño, and Tajín. Let stand for 1 hour or overnight for more spice. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding solids. Infused tequila may be refrigerated for up to 3 months. (See note.)
- In the container of a blender, place infused tequila, frozen watermelon cubes, lime juice, triple sec, and agave nectar; process until smooth.
- Moisten rims of 4 chilled glasses with a lime wedge, if desired. Pour Tajín in a shallow dish, and dip rims of glasses in Tajín, if desired. Pour prepared cocktail into prepared glasses. Garnish with fresh watermelon slices, if desired.
Notes
Note: Infusing your tequila for 1 hour will result in a lightly spiced drink. For more of a punch, let your tequila infuse for up to 1 week for maximum spice.
