A balance of sweet citrus and subtle spice, the Dizzie Lizzie layers blood orange, jalapeño, and lime with tequila (or a mezcal blend) for |a cocktail that is refreshing and delicious.

Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
  • 2 ounces tequila (or 1½ ounces tequila plus ½ ounce mezcal)
  • ½ ounce spicy simple syrup
  • ½ ounce blood orange juice
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce triple sec
  • Soda water
  • Garnish: jalapeño slice or blood orange wheel
Instructions
  1. Combine tequila (and mezcal, if using), syrup, blood orange juice, lime juice, and triple sec in a cocktail shaker with ice. Cover, shake well, and strain into a glass with fresh ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with a thin jalapeño slice or blood orange wheel for extra color and a festive twist, if desired.
