Grapefruit-Ginger French 75
- 1 ounce gin
- 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
- ¼ ounce Ginger Simple Syrup (recipe follows)
- 2 ounces sparkling rosé
- Garnish: grapefruit peel
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
- In a cocktail shaker, combine gin, grapefruit juice, and Ginger Simple Syrup. Add ice. Shake until well chilled. Strain into a Champagne flute or coupe glass. Top with sparkling rosé. Garnish with grapefruit peel, if desired.
- In a small saucepan, bring sugar, ½ cup water, and ginger to a gentle boil over medium-high heat; cook until sugar completely dissolves. Let cool to room temperature. Strain syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding ginger. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
